| Princeton led for all but two early minutes Friday night against Cornell, getting the first five points from Hans Brase and putting the Big Red in chase mode in a 66-53 win in Jadwin Gym. The Tigers had a few key stats in their favor, outshooting the Big Red 47 percent to 37 percent, outrebounding Cornell 35-26 and outdoing Cornell at the free-throw line, going 25 of 30 to Cornell's 7 of 12. Cornell was able to stay within single digits into the final minutes in thanks in part to practicing better ball security than the Tigers, turning it over just eight times to 16 for Princeton. Princeton led by seven points at the half and never trailed after the break, but Cornell stayed on the Tigers' heels, coming within three points with eight minutes to go before Princeton answered with a 6-0 run and kept Cornell at arm's length the rest of the way. Three Tigers finished in double figures with Clay Wilson leading the way with 15 points, Brase right behind him with 14 and Spencer Weisz chipping in 10. Shonn Miller, the Ivy's third-leading scorer entering the night, did what he could to move up that list, putting in a game-high 25 points as the only Big Red player in double figures until fellow senior Galal Cancer hit a free throw with less than three minutes to go to join him with 10 points. |

Cornell had clawed to within three points with eight-plus minutes to go in the game but a Clay Wilson bucket stopped it there and turned the tide with that basket starting a little 6-0 run. After that run, Cornell was never closer than seven points behind Princeton. |
