Penn took three of four games in its pivotal Ivy South divisional series with Princeton as the Tigers rallied to take the final game of the weekend 7-5 after Penn had come from behind to take Sunday's doubleheader opener 4-2. In Sunday's opener, Princeton led 2-1 after two innings on an Alyssa Schmidt solo home run in the first and a Danielle Dockx sacrifice fly in the second that picked up a leadoff single from Emily Viggers. The Tigers carried that lead into the sixth, but three walks, a hit batter and a two-run single by Korinne Raby in that inning helped put Penn ahead and the Quakers held on for the win. Penn stranded three runners in scoring position over the first two innings in game one before Princeton starter Shanna Christian retired 12 of 13 between the second and fifth innings. Princeton left three runners in scoring position against Penn starter Alexis Borden including two in the second. That missed opportunity loomed larger as Borden allowed only one runner to reach second base over the final five frames. In game two, Princeton got going on offense over the middle innings, using an RBI double from Viggers and a Schmidt three-run home run to pull within 5-4 of Penn after the Quakers scored all five of their runs between the third and fourth innings. Princeton then pulled ahead on a dropped fly ball off the bat of Kelsey Smith that brought home a pair, and a Viggers RBI single gave the Tigers an insurance run in the seventh. While Princeton left five runners in scoring position over the course of game two, Penn was the team with more missed opportunities in the nightcap, leaving nine runners at second or third base. |
| Alyssa Schmidt had three hits on the day, one of three players to do that along with Emily Viggers and Cara Worden, and Schmidt's four RBIs and nine total bases, eight of those courtesy of home runs in each game, led the team. |

| Korinne Raby's two-run single in the sixth inning put Penn ahead 3-2 in the first game, and though it didn't put Princeton in the lead, Alyssa Schmidt's three-run home run in the fifth inning of the nightcap turned a 5-1 deficit into 5-4, and Princeton climbed back on top in the next frame. |

• Penn continued its control of the series with Princeton, splitting or winning three games for the seventh straight year. • Freshman Danielle Dockx's RBI in the first game was her first run driven in since March 17 against Georgetown. • Senior Alyssa Schmidt's home runs were her third and fourth of the season and 10th and 11th of her career. It's the first time she's homered in back to back games. |
| Princeton will host Yale in an Ivy League make-up doubleheader Wednesday at 2 p.m. |
