No. 12 Princeton Women's Water Polo Set to Host 2015 CWPA Championship

PRINCETON, N.J. – The 12th-ranked Princeton University women's water polo team returns to action this weekend as it plays host to the 2015 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championship at DeNunzio Pool.
The tournament's top seed, Princeton will open play against the winner of No. 8 Mercyhurst and No. 9 George Washington on Friday, Apr. 24 at 4:30 p.m. In partnership with Stretch Internet, the CWPA will stream the championship at a cost of $10 per game or $25 for a weekend pass.
Fans attending the CWPA Championship can pay for either a three-day tournament ($25) or a one-day pass ($10). Princeton students, faculty and staff with a valid college ID, and senior citizens 65 and older, will be admitted at discounted prices of $12 (tournament pass) and $5 (one-day pass). All children 12 and under are free of charge.

LAST TIME OUT
• Princeton improved to 26-3 on the season and 9-1 in CWPA play with a pair of wins over Harvard and Brown at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.
• The Tigers downed the Crimson, 15-7, before tripping up the host Bears in the afternoon session, 9-3.
• Ashley Hatcher keyed Princeton's attack against Harvard, tallying four goals and two assists.
• Pippa Temple netted four goals, while Chelsea Johnson had a goal, two steals and four drawn ejections.
• Against Brown, Hatcher scored three goals on four shots, while Haley Wan had two goals and two assists.
• Playing all 32 minutes, Ashleigh Johnson made 13 saves.
TOURNAMENT HISTORY
• Princeton will host the CWPA Championship for the fifth time, having also hosted in 1996, 2000, 2002 and 2007.
• In 2007, the Tigers fell to Hartwick in the championship game, 8-6.
• Last season, Princeton dropped the championship game to Indiana, 11-10.
• The Orange and Black captured back-to-back CWPA championships in 2012 and 2013, defeating Maryland (W, 7-6) and Michigan (W, 7-5), respectively.
• Princeton has captured three CWPA titles (formerly known as the CWPA Eastern Championship – name changed in 2013-14), having also risen to the top of the conference in 2000.

• In the midst of another stellar season, Ashleigh Johnson has logged 577:54 minutes in net, posting a 17-3 record in 20 appearances.

LEADING THE WAY
• Ashley Hatcher has poured in a career-high 70 goals this season, posting a 0.583 shot percentage.
• Her 70 goals are tied for the seventh-highest single-season total in school history.
• Netting a goal in all but two of her outings, she has scored at least three goals in a game on 13 occasions.
• Hatcher's 186 career goals currently sit sixth on the program's charts.
SHARING THE WEALTH
• All 15 of Princeton field players have recorded a goal this season.
• All but three Tigers have at least 10 goals, with six players registering at least 20 scores.
• Ashley Hatcher leads the team with 70 goals, while also tallying 19 steals and 18 assists.
• Jessie Holechek ranks second on the squad in goals with 46, while also sitting second in assists (34) and blocks (12).
• Pippa Temple has 31 goals in 28 appearances with 19 assists, 13 steals and 22 ejections drawn.
• Morgan Hallock and Haley Wan each have 29 goals, with Wan also leading the team in assists (43), steals (29) and blocks (14). Hallock has drawn a squad-best 86 ejections.
