DIETRICK NAMED TO AP HONORABLE MENTION ALL-AMERICA
PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior co-captain Blake Dietrick of the Princeton University women's basketball team hauled in yet another postseason accolade, earning a spot on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) honorable mention All-America team.
Also an Associated Press honorable mention All-America selection, Dietrick is just the second Tiger to garner recognition from the WBCA, joining Niveen Rasheed, who received honorable mention praise in 2013.
Averaging career-highs in points (15.1), assists (4.9) and rebounds (4.5) per game, Dietrick helped Princeton earn its first-ever NCAA Tournament win with an 80-70 first round victory over Green Bay. The Tigers' No. 8 tournament seeding is the highest-ever for an Ivy program, while the team's No. 13 AP and USA Today Coaches poll rankings are also a conference-best.
A seven-time Ivy League Player of the Week, Dietrick was the unanimous choice for Ivy League Player of the Year. Picking up her second consecutive first-team All-Ivy selection, Dietrick set a single-season program record for assists with 157. Her league-high 483 points in 2014-15 are tied for the third highest total in program history.
Also a three-time CollegeSportsMadness.com Ivy POTW honoree, Dietrick became the only player in school history to twice be named the USBWA Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week when she was honored by the organization on Jan. 6, 2015. This past Thursday (Apr. 2), Dietrick represented the Tigers in the State Farm College 3-Point Championships.
Putting the wraps on a decorated career, Dietrick sits third on the program charts in three-pointers made (210) and three-point shooting percentage (.395), while ranking fourth in assists (346) and 11th in scoring (1,233).
