Nicolao Announces 2014-15 Princeton Water Polo Team Award Winners

PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton University men's and women's water polo head coach Luis Nicolao has announced the winners of the programs' annual team awards.
A four-year letterwinner for Princeton, Kelly Gross took home the squad's Friends of Women's Water Polo Tiger Award. The award is given annually to the individual who contributed most in play, sportsmanship and dedication to the women's water polo team.
Kevin Zhang was named the Scott A.C. Roche '94 Memorial Water Polo Award winner. Given annually, by election of the team, the award is presented to the senior player who, like Scott, led with energy and determination, intense competitive spirit, and a contagious love of the game.
Making 32 appearances during her senior season, Gross dished out 13 assists, while collecting four goals, seven steals, three blocks, and three drawn ejections. Over the course of her career, Gross amassed 64 goals, 101 assists and 66 steals. A three-time ACWPC and CWPA All-Academic honoree, Gross finished her career ranked third on the program charts in assists.
Zhang made 12 appearances in his final season in Orange & Black, tallying two goals and three steals. In four varsity seasons, Zhang recorded eight goals, seven steals, and three assists. Also excelling in the classroom, Zhang is a two-time ACWPC and three-time CWPA All-Academic selection.
