July 20, 2015 | Football
The Princeton football team will open its 2015 season the evening of Sept. 19 at Lafayette, and then will play three straight home games on Powers Field at Princeton Stadium. The full schedule with game times is now available, and you find it by using the link above.
Princeton, which will play four of its Ivy League games on the road this season, won't have its first long trip until the middle of October. The Tigers will open the season at 6 pm on Sept. 19 at Fisher Stadium, home of the Lafayette Leopards. Princeton will be looking for its first season-opening win since 2006, but it has won three straight games in the series with Lafayette, including a 35-14 win at Fisher Stadium in 2012.
Following that game, Princeton will play three straight on Powers Field, including the 5 pm home opener Sept. 26 against Lehigh. The two teams didn't meet last season, but the Mountain Hawks have won four straight in the series, including one of Princeton's two losses during its 2013 Ivy League championship season.
The Tigers will begin their chase for an 11th Ivy League championship on Friday night (7 pm), Oct. 2, against Columbia. That game will be the Ivy League debut for new Columbia head coach Al Bagnoli, unless you count the previous 161 Ivy games he coached at Penn. Princeton will conclude the three-week homestand the following Satuday at 1 pm against Colgate.
Princeton will move into the heart of its Ivy League season at noon on Oct. 17 when it takes on Brown, and will follow that game with another noon showdown at reigning Ivy League champion Harvard on Oct. 24.
Princeton returns to Powers Field on Halloween for a 3:30 showdown with Cornell, and then will head to Franklin Field for a noon matchup with Penn on Nov. 7.
Princeton and Yale will play for the 138th time at 1 pm on Nov. 14 during Alumni Weekend on the University campus. The teams have split their last four meetings, with each winning at home over the last two seasons.
The Tigers will conclude the season Nov. 21 at noon against the Dartmouth Big Green at Memorial Field. The Big Green have won five straight in this series.
