FGCU Ends Unbeaten Streak for Men's Soccer in 89th Minute

FORT MYERS, Fla. (9/10/15) - A goal in the 89th minute decided the game as FGCU ends Princeton's nation leading 10-game unbeaten streak at 10.
A chip shot from 30 yards out by Preston Kilwien was the difference maker as he lofted in a pass from Rodrigo Saravia with 1:15 remaining in the game.
FGCU (1-1-1) took a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick in the first half. Dennis Zapata was taken down and Dylan Sacramento took the shot and converted the kick, going down the center for the team's first goal of the season.
The Tigers didn't let a 10-2 first-half shot differential rattle them, as the came out on the second half a different team. Like they did against St. John's, Princeton (1-1) entered the second half on a mission and quickly took control of the game.
Senior Nico Hurtado tallied his first of the season with help from senior Thomas Sanner and junior Andrew Doar less than five minutes in. Doar serviced the ball into the box from in front of the Princeton bench where Sanner got a head on it and Hurtado finished. Goalkeeper Nathan Ingram tried to punch the ball way before Sanner got to it and left the game with an injury with two saves to his credit Sawyer Jackson made his first career appearance and played the remaining 41 minutes in net for the Eagles.
Sacramento regained the lead for the Eagles with his second goal in the 55th minute. Thomas Cameron crossed the ball along the end line where David Robledo flicked it further along, where it reached Sacramento in the middle of the 18.
Senior Josh Miller scored his first career goal in the 71st minute to even the game at 2-2. Sophomore Nicholas Badalamenti knocked down a Brendan McSherry header and sent it back to McSherry. He hit the cross bar and it bounced out to the opposite side where Miller was waiting for the rebound.
Senior Ben Hummel stopped five shots in his first loss of the season.
Princeton finished the game with a 16-15 edge in shots. FGCU won the corner kick battle 5-2.
The Tigers will head further South to Miami and will face FIU on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m.
