Penn Invitational is Complete for Men's Tennis
September 13, 2015 | Men's Tennis
Princeton's men's tennis team wrapped play Sunday at the three-day Penn Invitational with a single session of four doubles and eight singles matches against players from Virginia Commonwealth and Buffalo.
"Overall, this was a positive weekend for us," Princeton head coach Billy Pate said. "However, I was a bit disappointed in our energy and execution in doubles. We rebounded today to split the singles matches, but clearly we need to iron out a few wrinkles with our doubles. Nonetheless, I thought we performed well throughout the whole weekend considering we've only had a few days of pratie. It will be good to get all 11 guys matches next weekend at our opening fall event."
On the weekend, Princeton won 9 of 20 in doubles matches and 25 of 39 in singles play. The Tigers had matches against players from St. John's, Old Dominion, Penn, Buffalo, William and Mary and finally VCU.
Princeton will return home next weekend to host the Ivy Plus Tournament next Friday through Sunday.
