Koelzer and Lund Capture League Honors

ALBANY, N.Y. - Junior defender Kelsey Koelzer and freshman Karlie Lund of the Princeton women's hockey team were named the Player of the Week and the Rookie of the Week, respectively, it was announced by ECAC Hockey this afternoon.
Koelzer led the league in scoring last week, as the defender scored four goals and added one assist, averaging 2.50 points per game. On Friday night in the team's first game back in 20 days, she recorded a hat trick. It was the first hat trick by a Princeton defender since All-America Sasha Sherry registered one on Feb. 12, 2011 against Rensselaer. She kept it going the next day with the game-winner and an assist in a 5-1 win over Yale. The wins keep Princeton unbeaten in the last eight games.
Lund recorded a four-point week to lead the league's rookies with two goals and two assists. On Friday night she assisted on one goal in a 6-1 win over Brown and then scored twice and added a helper against Yale the next afternoon in a 5-1 Tigers win. The sweep against league foes, comes off of a 20-day hiatus, extending Princeton's current win streak to eight games. The Tigers outscored their opponents 11-2 last weekend, and 34-7 during the 8-0 streak.
