TIgers Propel To No. 9 In CWPA Varsity Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Tigers have propelled to No. 9 in the most recent Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Varsity Poll, the league governing body announced today. The Tigers had the highest improvement in the poll from the previous week, jumping four spots.
Princeton went 2-0 over the weekend, picking up a 15-8 decision over then No. 16 George Washington and a 12-7 victory over Navy. With his stellar performance in the two contests, freshman Sean Duncan was named Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.
The top eight in the poll remains unchanged from the previous week. The two-time defending national champion, UCLA, is No. 1, followed by Cal., USC, Pacific, Stanford, Long Beach State, UC-Santa Barbara and Pepperdine. Cal-Davis sits No. 10. NWPC foes Brown and Harvard are No. 11 and No. 12.
The Tigers will compete against the New York Athletic Club (11 a.m.) and No. 13 Bucknell on Saturday in the Crimson Invitational hosted by Harvard.
