Tarakchian '16 Helps BCF Elfic Fribourg Basket To EuroCup Regular Season

FRIBOURG, Switzerland – Annie Tarakchian '16 helped BCF Elfic Fribourg Basket qualify for the regular season of the EuroCup last night as it defeated Basket 90 Gdynia 85-52.

For BCF Elfic Fribourg Basket to qualify for the EuropCup regular season, it needed to outscore Basket 90 Gdynia in its two-game series. One week ago, Basket 90 Gdynia registered a 74-64 victory, a game in which Tarakchian secured seven points and six rebounds. With its 33-point decision in game two, the BCF Elfic Fribourg advances to play Reyer Venezia on Oct. 26.

Tarakchian is averaging 13.0 points and team-high 10.5 rebounds in her team's two games in the EuroCup. She is the fifth player under head coach Head Coach Courtney Banghart to sign a professional contract. The others include Devon Allgood '12, Addie Micir '11, Niveen Rasheed '13 and Blake Dietrick '15. Dietrick became the second Ivy League player ever to make a WNBA roster as she made the Seattle Storm's opening night roster this season.
