Tigers Head to Georgetown Monday, Tuesday
October 14, 2016 | Men's Golf
The next-to-last tournament of the fall will come Monday and Tuesday for the Princeton men's golf team at the Georgetown Intercollegiate.
The event will match Princeton and host Georgetown with DePaul, Eastern Michigan, Florida Atlantic, Navy, Notre Dame, Rhode Island, Saint Joseph's, Temple, Towson and William and Mary. Princeton returns as the defending champion of the event after being led by Quinn Prchal, who was tied for medalist honors after 36 holes and came up just short in a playoff. The Tigers finished three shots clear of Rhode Island, whose Billy Walthouse defeated Prchal in the playoff.
Princeton won't have Prchal this time, but junior Marc Hedrick has led the team in each of its last two tournaments, Northwestern's Windon Memorial and Yale's MacDonald Cup, with top-12 finishes in each event.
Georgetown's event will feature 54 holes this year on the par-71, 7,102-yard Members Club at Four Streams course in Beallsville, Md. Tee times will begin at 8:30 a.m. each day, with a shotgun start to begin Monday's two-round day and Tuesday's play beginning from the first and 10th holes for the final round.Â
After the tournament, Princeton will wrap its fall slate at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational in Kauai, Hawaii, Oct. 30-Nov. 1.
