Tso, Paz Fall in ITA Regional Singles Qualifying

Ben Tso and Eduardo Paz opened play at the ITA Northeast Regional Thursday at Penn with defeats in the qualifying singles round.
The 48 entrants needed to win two matches Thursday to be among the 12 players included in the main draw. Tso fell to Yale's Andrew Heller 6-3, 6-4 and Paz fell to Army West Point's Myles Conlin 6-7(3), 6-2, 6-3. Both Tigers' opponents went on to win their next matches and gain entry into the main draw.
Regional play will continue Friday with one round of doubles, beginning at 8 a.m., followed by one round of singles. Jonathan Carcione, Davey Roberts, Jimmy Wasserman and Payton Holden have their first singles matches Friday while Tom Colautti and Alex Day will wait until Saturday with their first-round byes, and in doubles play, Colautti and Holden and Carcione and Wasserman will start play Friday while Day and Luke Gamble will begin Saturday after their first-round bye.
