Early Goal Stands as Harvard Tops Tigers, 1-0
October 22, 2016 | Women's Soccer
An early bounce went Harvard's way, and the Crimson made it stand as the Princeton women's soccer team fell 1-0 Saturday afternoon at Roberts Stadium.
Harvard's Karly Zlatic won a ball 20 yards from the goal with just more than three minutes gone in the first half and headed it in, and despite Princeton outshooting Harvard 16-5 overall and 7-2 on goal, Zlatic's goal was the only one of the match.
Princeton has won the shot total in each of its last five games, but the Tigers prevailed on the scoreboard in only the first two of those contests.
Princeton will be home again Tuesday for its final non-conference game of the regular season when Bucknell visits Roberts Stadium for a 7 p.m. start.
