Tigers Sweep Singles Friday, Day/Gamble Fall at ITA All-America
October 07, 2016 | Men's Tennis
At two sites across two time zones Friday, members of the Princeton men's tennis team battled, finding great success at home and coming up just a few points short far from home.
At the Farnsworth Invitational on campus, Princeton went eight for eight in singles contests and two for four in doubles on the second of four days at the event.
In Tulsa at the ITA All-America tourament, Alex Day and Luke Gamble looked to follow up their Thursday upset of the nation's top-ranked doubles team when they faced Purdue's Gergely Madarasz and Ricardo Mendinilla. After dropping Thursday's first set, Day and Gamble got out to a lead Friday with a 6-1 first-set win against the Purdue pair, but Madarasz and Mendinilla evened it up with a 6-2 second-set win and took the tiebreak third set 10-6.
Princeton's results from Friday are below. The Farnsworth updated draws can be found here.
