Pollner, Steffensen Defeat Ranked Doubles Foe at LSU

Gaby Pollner and Katrine Steffensen took down a ranked opponent in doubles play and Princeton took five of seven singles matches Saturday on the second of three days at the LSU Invitational.
Pollner and Steffensen beat 54th-ranked Katherine Ip and Priya Niezgoda of Rice, 6-3, and both went on to win their singles matches over Tulane opponents. Tiffany Chen, Nicole Kalhorn and Clare McKee were also singles winners.
Pollner's and Steffensen's win was the duo's first against an ITA-ranked opponent in just their third match playing together. Play will continue Sunday with singles matches against players from Rice at 10 a.m. ET.
