Barba Named Third-Team Academic All-America

Princeton senior Patrick Barba has been named a 2016 Academic All-America® it was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Tuesday afternoon.
A first-team Academic All-District® selection last month, Barba is the third Tiger in program history to earn the prestigious Academic All-America honors as he joins Cameron Porter (second team in 2014) and his own head coach Jim Barlow (first team in 1991).
Barba was named first-team All-Ivy League last week, for the second straight season. The team captain started all 17 games and played more minutes than any other player on the team. An ecology and evolutionary biology major, Barba had seven points as the center back. He scored the game-winning goal over FDU and had a three-point effort versus Harvard. Defensively, he helped to hold teams to a shots on goal percentage of 37.7, with just 83 of 220 shots making it on frame.
The Tigers finished the 2016 season with a 7-7-3 overall record.
