Duncan Named NWPC Tournament Top Rookie; Payne And Wilson Honored

PRINCETON, N.J. - Freshman Sean Duncan was selected as the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Tournament's top Rookie while two other teammates received NWPC accolades.
Duncan was picked Rookie of the Tournament after posting back-to-back two-goal outings in the Tigers' contests. The freshman also drew three ejections vs. Harvard along with five more against St. Francis-Brooklyn. For the season, Duncan finished with 49 goals, a team-best 61 drawn ejections and was named the NWPC Rookie of the Year.
Sophomore Matt Payne had incredible run and was honored as first team all-conference tournament. He scored 12 goals, adding three steals, three drawn ejections and two assists. Payne recorded 39 percent of Princeton's goals against Harvard and St. Francis-Brooklyn. The NWPC first-team all-conference player was the only player to ever score at least 60 goals and dish out 50 assists in a year.
Making the second team All-NWPC Tournament squad, sophomore Ryan Wilson finished with nine points during Princeton's third place finish. Wilson posted two tallies and three assists in the team's 14-13 loss to Harvard and returned the next day with four assists and four steals vs. St. Francis-Brooklyn. He ended the 2016 season with 34 goals, 46 assists, 36 steals and 27 drawn ejections.
