November 03, 2016 | Men's Water Polo
PRINCETON, N.J. – For the third time this season, junior Vojislav Mitrovic has been selected as the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Defensive Player of the Week.
It's Mitrovic's 11th career weekly honor. The two-time honorable mention All-American had a wonderful weekend as he combined for 32 saves in the team's two NWPC wins. Against Iona, the junior made 17 stops and then followed that with a 15-save performance vs. then No. 18 St. Francis-Brooklyn. He has made at least 10 saves in 15 of his 18 starts this season.
Yesterday, the Tigers moved back into the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Varsity Poll top ten with a 15-7 overall record. The team is 6-1 in the NWPC ahead of No. 10 Harvard (5-2), No. 12 Brown (5-2), No. 20 St. Francis-Brooklyn (4-3), Iona (1-6) and MIT (0-7). Princeton will finish the regular season at MIT (10:30 a.m.) and No. 10 Harvard (8 p.m.) on Saturday along with No. 12 Brown on Sunday (2:30 p.m.).
