Five Details for Seton Hall
In Your Face! – While Seton Hall did reach its block shots per game average with six, half of them came in the fourth quarter when the game was out of reach. Despite the Pirates' propensity for blocks, that did not stop the Tigers from driving into the paint as they were able to shoot 49 percent (24-of-49) from inside the three-point line and attempt 22 free throws.
Â
Hey That's Mine! – The Pirates came up with nine steals against the Tigers, a season-low for a team placed 13th in the country in swipes per game (13.8). Kaela Hilarie, Seton Hall's team-leader (3.5) had just one steal. During its three-game winning streak, Princeton has turned the ball over 14.3 times a contest, which would be second in the Ivy League.
Â
Three-Point Stand Off – Seton Hall went 9-of-28 (32.1 percent) from deep, which is right around their norm, but were hampered by slow offensive starts in the first and third quarters. Seton Hall found itself down 11-0 to open the game and allowed seven straight points to begin the third quarter.
Â
Offense Starter? - Last night's game was indeed a jump start for the Tigers' offense as Princeton had its best performance of the early 2016-17 campaign. The Tigers' 49 points in the second half was a season best while it was the first time they've reached the 90-point mark since a 94-57 victory over Cornell last February. The team's 46.2 percent (12-of-26) from three was also its best mark of the 2016 campaign. The Tigers had four players in double figures for the first time this season.
Â
Rebounding Prowess – For the fourth straight game, the Tigers outrebounded its opponent, winning the rebounding battle, 53-39, over Seton Hall. Princeton's +14 margin tied its season-high as did its 53 rebounds. 13 different players grabbed a board in the game, highlighted by Alarie's 15 caroms.
The Tigers will get back into action next Wednesday (Dec. 7) vs. Lafayette at Jadwin Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. and is available on the Ivy League Digital Network.
