CoSIDA Release
PRINCETON – Senior Michelle Miller of the Princeton University women's basketball team was selected to College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Capital One Academic All-District team.
In order to be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30, and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing. First team honorees are automatically considered for the Academic All-America squads, which will be selected later this month.
Miller was the only Ivy League student-athlete among the six District 2 honorees. There were 46 Division I student-athletes selected among the eight academic districts across the United States and Canada.
The senior, this season, has started all 19 games for head coach Courtney Banghart's squad. She leads the team at 14.4 points, good for seventh best in the Ivy League. Miller is lights out from beyond the three-point line, shooting the second highest percentage (41.3) in the conference. The senior guard also averages a career-high 6.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. She became the 23rd player in program history to score 1,000 career points earlier this season.
The chemistry major is a spectacular student away from the court as well. Miller won the Princeton Shapiro for Academic Excellence award and was selected to CoSIDA Academic All-American third team last year. She is also a finalist for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship.
