Feb. 25 TigerCast: T D'Alessandro, R Leizman, T Morgan and J Scinto
February 25, 2016 | General, Men's Swimming and Diving, Men's Track and Field, Women's Squash, Women's Track and Field
It's a championship weekend upcoming at Princeton, and this week's edition focuses on four teams that will be title-hunting this weekend.
Senior swimming tri-captain Teo D'Alessandro will be the first to compete for Ivy titles, as he will lead the reigning Ivy League champions to Providence to compete for the men's title. D'Alessandro is the two-time defending 200 IM champion, and he would love to cap his career with both another individual and team title.
Senior Rachel Leizman sent the women's squash team into this weekend's Howe Cup national championship with a ton of momentum following Saturday's 5-4 win over Trinity. Her 3-2 win assured Princeton the 3-seed, and was one of the best of her four-year starter career. She looks ahead to a potentially exciting weekend, as well as that Trinity win last week.
Both seniors Taylor Morgan and Jake Scinto will round out the episode by looking ahead to this weekend's Indoor Heptagonal championships at Cornell. Morgan is the Ivy League's reigning indoor champion in the pentathlon, and she is trying to lead the Tigers to Step 2 of a potential Triple Crown, following the cross country win last fall. Scinto is a threat in several events, and he knows the challenges of facing a strong Cornell team on its own track. Both talk about the season so far, and their thoughts on the weekend.
