LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Princeton women's water polo team ran by the Gannon Golden Knights, 18-6 at Kinney Natatorium on the final day at the Bucknell Invitational. The Tigers finished 2-1 during the tournament.
Sophomore Chelsea Johnson tied her career high with four goals while four other Tigers had multiple tallies. Johnson also had an assist for a five-point game. Junior Hannah Lapkin had a four-point contest with two goals and two assists. Freshman Charlotte Valentine and sophomore Haley Wan had three steals each.
After Gannon tied the contest at one, Princeton scored four straight goals to take a 5-1 lead after the first quarter. Another four-goal spurt by the Tigers gave head coach Luis Nicolao's team a 10-3 advantage at the intermission. Another stellar defense effort held the Golden Knights to one goal in the third frame while Princeton registered four goals in each stanza in the second half en route to its 18-6 victory.
