Men's Swim/Dive Hopes To Send Seniors Out With First Perfect Regular Season
February 04, 2016 | Men's Swimming and Diving
One week after the Princeton men's swimming and diving team completed its first HYP sweep since 2012, the Tigers will look to win the dual meet league crown and send their seniors out with a final home victory in DeNunzio Pool when they host the Columbia Lions Friday at 6 pm.
The full meet will be streamed live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
While Princeton gained significant confidence from its victories over both Harvard (224.5-126.5) and Yale (253-98), the Tigers are well aware that they can't take Columbia lightly. After all, it was only one year ago when the Lions scored a 168-132 home victory over Princeton.
Princeton won only a small number of events in that meet, a stark contrast to the results from last weekend. Led by a trio of victories from En-Wei Hu-Van Wright, the Tigers won 15 of 19 events over the two sessions to post their convincing victories.
While winning the meet is the first priority, Princeton is hoping to send its talented senior class out on the right note. The Tiger Class of 2016 has won two Ivy League titles already, and it has a third in its sights for later this month, but this will be its final competition in DeNunzio Pool. The Tigers would like nothing more than to send Noam Altman-Kurosaki, Sandy Bole, Marco Bove, Teo D'Alessandro, Andrew Helber, Andrew Mullen, Jack Pohlmann, Zach Ridout and Byron Sanborn out as victors one more time.
