Men's Golf to Open Spring in San Diego

Princeton will join 10 other teams and host San Diego State at the Barona Collegiate Club near San Diego to open the spring season Monday and Tuesday.
This is the first time Princeton has competed in the event. The Tigers will battle it out with Air Force, Alabama State, Boise State, Cal State Bakersfield, Minnesota, Sacramento State, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, Utah and the host Aztecs, plus four individuals from Oklahoma State, over 54 holes with 36 Monday and 18 Tuesday. SDSU is the highest-ranked team in the field at No. 23 in the March 11 Golfweek rankings.
The course at Barona Creeek Golf Club is a par-72 and measures 7,354 yards, located northeast of San Diego in Lakeside, Calif.
Teams will start at 11:30 a.m. ET (8:30 a.m. PT) each day with a shotgun start. Live results can be found via Golfstat here.
The Barona Collegiate Cup is the first of four events on the spring schedule for Princeton, which will head to the ASU Thunderbird Invitational hosted by Arizona State April 2-3 before hosting the Princeton Invitational April 9-10 at Springdale. The Ivy League Championship will follow at Metedeconk National Golf Club in Jackson, N.J., April 22-24.
This past fall, Princeton won three of its five tournaments, capping the season with a win at the Georgetown Hoya Invitational. Sophomores Michael Davis, Marc Hedrick and Eric Mitchell, and junior Quinn Prchal, all led or co-led Princeton in a tournament in the fall. Prchall won the Cornell Invitational title and went to a playoff at Georgetown to close the season.
