Men's Tennis Set to Host Indiana and Penn State This Weekend

Up 14 spots in the ITA rankings from a week ago, the Princeton men's tennis team will host a pair of Big Ten opponents this weekend in Jadwin Gym when Indiana and Penn State visit Friday and Saturday. Live video of the matches will be available via the Ivy League Digital Network here.
The Tigers faced Wisconsin, Michigan and Iowa in Princeton's first three matches of the season, getting a 6-1 win against then-No. 64 Iowa after losses to Wisconsin and Michigan. Iowa has since climbed to 33rd in the ITA rankings while Michigan is 19th and Wisconsin 55th.
Princeton is coming off a trip to the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic in Alabama that saw the Tigers topple then-No. 48 Auburn 4-2 before a 4-0 loss to Alabama, which jumped into the rankings this week at No. 49.
Indiana, though 4-6 on the season heading into a match at No. 65 Cornell Thursday, has faced seven currently ITA-ranked opponents including five straight. The Hoosiers will look to snap a four-match skid on their eastern trip before opening Big Ten play on Mar. 8 against Purdue.
Penn State rolls into Jadwin Gym at 10-1 on the season after winning its first nine matches of the season before falling 4-0 to Big Ten rival and current No. 4 Ohio State last Friday. Princeton will be the fourth and final Ivy League opponent of the regular season for the Nittany Lions, with Penn State already having defeated Dartmouth, Cornell and Penn.
The weekend will be the next-to-last set of competitions before the Ivy League race begins for Princeton, with the Tigers headed to the USD Challenge in San Diego in two weeks.
