Softball's Home Opener Set for Saturday as Colgate Visits

With 20 games in the books, the Princeton softball team will return home to the Class of 1895 Field for the 2016 home opener against Colgate Saturday at 2 p.m.
Following the doubleheader, the Tigers will have one last pre-Ivy tune-up Wednesday at Rider before opening the Ivy slate back at '95 against Dartmouth Friday. Colgate is in the same position with its schedule, hosting Albany Tuesday before Patriot League play begins Saturday at home against Army West Point.
This will be the first meeting between Princeton and Colgate to take place on one of the teams' home fields. Princeton leads the all-time series 8-1, but seven of the nine meetings took place in 1992 or earlier. The teams met twice at a Delaware State-hosted event in 2013, with Princeton winning both.
