PRINCETON, N.J. - The Princeton baseball team takes on the St. John's Red Storm in a non-conference midweek contest on Wednesday at Jack Kaiser Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. The Tigers split its last Ivy League weekend with two wins over Brown and two losses against Yale.
THE WEEK THAT WAS
- The Monmouth Hawks ended Princeton's five-game winning streak with a 7-3 victory on last Wednesday at Clarke Field.
- Less than one week after Princeton posted dramatic home sweeps against both Dartmouth and Harvard, the Tigers suffered their first two losses of the Ivy season during a road doubleheader in New Haven, Conn against Yale on Saturday. One big inning for the Bulldogs in both games (6-3, 6-1) were enough to lead Yale to a 4-2 league mark in the Rolfe Division, while the Tigers fell to 4-2 in the Gehrig Division.
- Game 1 was a thriller. Game 2 was a record breaker. Both were Princeton victories vs. Brown on Sunday.
- One game after fighting out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the seventh inning for an 11-9 victory, Princeton scored 25 runs to complete a Sunday sweep of Brown and remain in first place in the Gehrig Division entering divisional play.
- The Tigers broke a program record with 36 runs in a doubleheader. Zack Belski helped power Princeton in the nightcap with a Princeton-record eight RBIs, topping a record that has stood for 84 years and been shared by six Princeton players.
- The 25 runs are the most Princeton has scored in a game since May 7, 1992 (Monmouth), and the second-most in program history; on March 29, 1974, Princeton scored 29 in a win over Ursinus.
ON A ROLL
- Over the weekend, Belski had 12 RBI and four extra base hits. He had seven hits in 16 at-bats and also scored three times.
