Mitchell Surges on Second Day at Ivy League Championships
April 23, 2016 | Men's Golf
Sophomore Eric Mitchell stands just three shots off the pace after two rounds at the Ivy League Championships at Metedeconk National Golf Club in Jackson, N.J., carding a 70 for the low round of the tournament so far.
Mitchell eagled the par-five 14th hole Saturday and was eight shots better than his Friday score of a 6-over 78. His total score of +4 trails only Cornell's Luke Graboyes, who carded a 73 and 72 over the first two days to stand at +1, and Harvard's Aurian Capart, who is two shots back of Graboyes at +4.
On the team tote, Princeton remained in fifth place heading into Sunday's final round, 22 shots back of leader Harvard. The Crimson hold a 10-shot lead on Yale. The Tigers will tee off Sunday beginning at 8:25 a.m.
