Men's Golf Wraps Play in Arizona
April 03, 2016 | Men's Golf
The final tournament before the annual Princeton Invitational comes to Springdale Golf Club came to a close for the Tiger men's golf team Sunday in Arizona with a 13th-place finish at Arizona State's Thunderbird Invitational on the university's Karsten Golf Course.
Despite three Golfstat top-25 teams finishing in the top four, the one team not in that top 25 in that foursome was the tournament champ. Iowa State finished a shot ahead of No. 13 California, three in front of No. 22 San Diego State and four in front of No. 5 Arizona State to come away with the team title. ASU's Jon Rahm won the individual title at -15 three shots better than Iowa State's Nick Voke.
Alex Dombrowski and Quinn Prchal, who co-led Princeton after Saturday's first two rounds, co-led the team at the end, each tying for 33rd overall at +5 and turning in identical round scores of 74, 71 and 73, with each player's 71 sharing low-round honors among Tigers. Rahm and Iowa State's Denzel Ieremia shared the overall low round with each turning in a 64 Saturday.
The Princeton Invitational will run Saturday and Sunday at Springdale. More information on the tournament will be posted during the week here on GoPrincetonTigers.com.
