Dartmouth and Delaware

Men's Lightweights Top Delaware, Dartmouth In 2016 Home Debut
April 09, 2016 | Men's Rowing - Lightweight
"I was pleased that all of our boats were able to win but it's evident that there is still a ton of work to do," head coach Marty Crotty said. "Overall, it's great to be able to meet up with competition we're not normally able to race in the regular season. Dartmouth and Delaware went out of their way to include us in this race today and I know our guys really appreciate it."
The varsity eight was pushed by a tough Delaware boat, but the Tigers posted a winning time of 6:11.1 to top the Blue Hens by 3.9 seconds. That would be the closest race of the morning, as the strong depth within the Princeton program was clear in the remaining races. The 2V stayed perfect on the season with a win of nearly 11 seconds, while the 3V topped Delaware by more than 30 seconds.
Crotty was pleased with his boats, but he was also a proud host.
"On a day like today that promised to be cold, windy, and seriously uncomfortable out there, Lake Carnegie once again showed why it's the best place to race in the country," he said. "Conditions were downright pleasant and the wind or water was never a factor."
The Tigers will be back on Lake Carnegie next weekend, and the opponent promises to be a major factor. Two-time reigning national champion Cornell will return to Princeton to for the annual Platt Cup competition.
