PRINCETON, N.J. – Chris Young '02 picked up his first victory of the season last Friday for the Kansas City Royals, allowing two earned runs in six innings of work against the Baltimore Orioles (Apr. 22). Young struck out 10 hitters in a game for the first time since April of 2008.

Young joins Matt Bowman (St. Louis Cardinals), David Hale '11, Ross Ohlendorf '05 as former players of Princeton to reach the Majors during the 2016 season.

Ross Ohlendorf – Cincinnati Reds – The middle reliever has gone four straight outings without giving up a run (3 2/3 innings). Ohlendorf has three wins for the Reds and has struck out 9.6 hitters per nine innings pitched.

David Hale – Norfolk Tides (AAA) – The Baltimore Orioles claimed Hale off waivers and moved him to their AAA affiliate, the Norfolk Tide. Hale has made one appearances for the Tide so far.

Will Venable – Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (AAA) – The veteran outfielder has three multi-hit games for the Phillies' AAA affiliate. Venable has raised his batting average 87 points over the last two weeks. The Iron Pigs are a half-game back of the Syracuse Chiefs in the International League North Division.

Tyler Servais – Servais is the most recent Princeton Tiger to be drafted as he was selected in the 27th round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers. He played in 15 games at the professional level last season for the Gulf Coast and Connecticut Tigers.

Mike Fagan – Beloit Snappers (A+) - A ninth round pick of the Oakland A's in 2014, Fagan spent most of his time last season with the Beloit Snappers, striking out 43 batters. Fagan made his season debut on Thursday, not allowing a run in 1 1/3 innings of work.

Mike Ford – Tampa Bay Yankees (A+) – Ford is currently on the seven-day disabled list. That's about the only thing that has gone wrong for the outfielder as he has a .371/.439/.571 slash line with 14 RBI.

Alec Keller – Potomac Nationals (A+) – Keller has scored 10 runs and has 9 RBI for the Nationals this season. Along with nine walks, the outfielder has not been thrown out stealing in five attempts. The Nationals are 2.5 games back of the Lynchburg Hillcats of the Carolina League North Division.
Danny Barnes – New Hampshire Fisher Cats (AA) - The reliever has been outstanding to begin the 2016 season for the Fisher Cats. Barnes has a 1.74 ERA in seven games with 12 strikeouts in 10 1/3 innings.
