Tiger Trio Opens NFL Training Camps This Week; DeValve Debuts In Cleveland

Seth DeValve '16 has entered the working world, and he's about to go through an orientation like few people ever experience.
DeValve will join former teammates Mike Catapano '13 and Caraun Reid '14 in NFL Training Camps, which open across the nation this week. Reid, who recorded 29 tackles last season and became the first Princeton alumni to score an NFL touchdown in 30 years, begins his third camp with the Detroit Lions Thursday. Catapano, originally drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs but now a member of his hometown New York Jets, will open camp Saturday; Catapano overcame health issues in 2014 to return to the field with New York last season, and he recorded his second career sack in a victory over the New York Giants.
Between those two days, the newest Tiger in the professional ranks will make his NFL debut. DeValve, who became the highest-drafted Tiger in the modern era when he was selected in the fourth round, will open camp Friday with the Cleveland Browns. Prior to entering his first NFL camp, DeValve shared some thoughts with the Orange and Brown report; he spoke about the draft process, his NFL position(s) and developing a winning culture in Cleveland.
Of course, a fourth former Tiger continues to play a big role in the NFL. Jason Garrett '89, a former Bushnell Cup Award winner (as is Catapano), will enter his sixth full season as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys (he was the interim head coach late in the 2010 season).
