Women's Basketball To Travel To Australia

PRINCETON, N.J. – After traveling to France and Africa in 2011, the Princeton women's basketball team will soon head to Australia. The team departs on August 22nd and will spend the first four days of the trip in Sydney and the final four days in Cairns, Queensland before leaving to come home on September 1st.Â
"The opportunity to take my team overseas is an incredibly formative experience for which we are so grateful," said head coach Courtney Banghart. "We are provided the opportunity to travel, learn, serve, and play in another part of the world, which will help us grow individually and together. Australia is a beautiful place that also offers the highest level of competitive basketball. We all eagerly await the journey ahead. We'll look forward to sharing our journey on the website and through social media!"
In Sydney, Banghart's squad will explore the Queen Victoria Building, Sydney Opera House and do the Sydney Bridge Climb. On the court, Princeton battles the Norths Bears and the Waratah League All-Stars.

While in Cairns, the Tigers will check out the Rainforest Wildlife Park, explore the Aboriginal Cultural and Education Experience before conducting a youth clinch at the Yarrabah PCYC. The team also takes on the Cairn Dolphins of the Queensland Basketball League. On the last day of the trip, the Tigers will enjoy the Great Barrier Reef and have the opportunity to snorkel and take in the spectacular coral and sea life.
