2016 Princeton Football Season Tickets Now Available
August 08, 2016 | Football
Season tickets for the 2016 Princeton football season are now available, and there are plenty of reasons why you shouldn't miss a single game of the Tigers' upcoming home schedule.
First, the specifics on the ticket, which remains one of the best bargains for family entertainment in the area; a season ticket can be purchased for $40, and you can go here to secure your opportunity to join a potentially thrilling ride with the Tigers this season.
The 2016 home schedule is as follows:
Â
Besides Community & Staff Day, which will come on the Sept. 17 season opener, Princeton will host each of the three teams who shared the 2015 Ivy League title over the last five weeks of the 2016 season. That stretch will begin on Alumni Weekend, when the Tigers take on Harvard Oct. 22 at 1 pm.
"I couldn't be more excited for our home schedule this season, especially knowing the great support we get from our passionate fans," said Bob Surace, the Charles W. Caldwell Head Coach of Football. "We bring in all three teams that shared last year's Ivy League title, something we are working very hard to return to Princeton this fall. The support we get from the community, our students and our great alumni will help us on that journey, just as it has for some big home wins over the last five years. We can't wait to get the 2016 started and see Princeton Stadium filled with Orange and Black."
While the opponents are an exciting part of the 2016 schedule, there are more than enough reasons within the Princeton locker room to be here for every play of the 2016 season.
Offensively, Princeton continues to be one of the most up-tempo offenses in FCS football, and it returns two quarterbacks who both turned heads in league play last season. Senior Chad Kanoff threw for more than 2,200 yards in his first season as a starter, the sixth-highest single-season total in Princeton history. Junior John Lovett only played seven games, but he made enough of an impression to be a first-team All-Ivy League selection as a triple-threat standout.
Other returning skill players on offense include All-Ivy League running back Joe Rhattigan and Scott Carpenter, as well as sophomore tailback Charles Volker, who electrified the Heptagonal crowd last winter by winning the 60-meter sprint.
The defense could have the best front seven in the Ivy League this season, including former All-Ivy honorees Rohan Hylton (LB), Ty Desiré (DE), and Henry Schlossberg (DT). Princeton will also be bolstered by the return of defensive lineman Kurt Holuba, who dominated opposing offensive lines for two and a half games before being lost for the season due to injury. Tri-captain Dorian Williams will enter his fourth season as a defensive starter and will lead the back end of the defense as a free safety.
