Women's Tennis Set to Host Princeton Invitational Friday Through Sunday
September 14, 2016 | Women's Tennis
Players from Cornell and Temple will join those from the Princeton women's tennis team for the annual Princeton Invitational tournament Friday through Sunday at the Lenz Tennis Center.
Play is set to get underway at 10 a.m. Friday and Saturday with two rounds of doubles followed by one round of singles each day at 1 p.m. Sunday will see one round of singles beginning at 9 a.m.
The event will be Princeton's first since wrapping the spring dual-match season in the NCAA tournament for the third consecutive year, that time heading to South Carolina to battle Georgia Tech. The Tigers return all but one player from their lineup from that match, No. 1 singles and doubles player Amanda Muliawan. Caroline Joyce, back for her senior season, led the team with 25 wins between the fall and spring campaigns a year ago, just one more than second-team All-Ivy honoree Katrine Steffensen, who is back for her junior year.
Once the Princeton Invitational is in the books, North Carolina State's tournament will be up next, Sept. 23-25.
