Princeton Baseball In The Pros: Three Former Tigers Remain In MiLB Playoffs

PRINCETON, N.J. – Former Tiger Mike Ford and the Trenton Thunder are down two games to none to the Akron RubberDucks in the Eastern League Championship Series. Ford is 3-for-7 in the series with a home run.

Princeton has had six players, Chris Young '02 (Kansas City Royals), Matt Bowman (St. Louis Cardinals), David Hale '11 (Colorado Rockies), Ross Ohlendorf '05 (Cincinnati Reds), Will Venable (Los Angeles Dodgers) and Danny Barnes (Toronto Blue Jays) reach the majors this year.

The Dodgers are now currently down two games to none to the El Paso Chihuahuas in the best-of-five Pacific Coast League Championship. Venable has two hits and two RBI in the PCL Championship Series.

Jack Murphy – Oklahoma City Dodgers (AAA) – Murphy hit a home run in game four of the American Conference Finals and scored in a run in the decisive game five. He also had a RBI and run in game one of the PCL Championship Series vs. El Paso.

Alec Keller '14 – Potomac Nationals (A+) – The Nationals' season came to an end with a game three loss in the Lynchburg Hillcats in the Carolina League Division Series last Friday. Keller finished his season with 28 extra base hits, 14 steals and 63 RBI while hitting .285.

David Hale '11 – Norfolk Tides (AAA) – Hale's season with the Tides came to an end on September 1st. For the season, the former Tigers went 4-8 with a 5.58 ERA in the minors and made two appearances with the Colorado Rockies.
