2017 Schedule
Once March begins, the defending Ivy League champion Princeton softball team will set out for Texas, Maryland and California before the Ivy League season begins at the Class of 1895 Field on the final day of the month.
The schedule will begin at the University of Houston's tournament, where the Tigers will face the host Cougars, Wisconsin, Sam Houston State and Louisiana-Monroe between March 3-5.Â
Tournaments hosted by Towson and UC Davis are up next, Mar. 11-12 and Mar. 18-19, with Morgan State and Binghamton joining Princeton and Towson in Maryland and with the UC Davis lineup still being set.
With the Davis tournament starting Princeton's spring trip to California, the Tigers will continue with midweek doubleheaders at Pacific, Saint Mary's and San Jose State Mar. 21-23 before coming home for a week away from competition prior to the start of the Ivy slate.
Princeton will begin the league schedule with visits from Brown and Yale Mar. 31-Apr. 1 before heading to Harvard and Dartmouth the following weekend. The Ivy South slate will begin Apr. 15-16 with four games at Penn before returning to '95 Field the following weekend with four games against Columbia. The home-road split with Cornell will happen Apr. 29-30 with '95 Field hosting the first date.
The Tigers will have two non-league dates after returning East, one on Apr. 11 at Monmouth for a single game and the second on Apr. 19 at '95 Field for two against Lehigh.
Princeton is set to return eight of the 10 players who started at least 25 games from last year's team, including three of the team's four All-Ivy League honorees, led by top hitter and first-team All-Ivy honoree Kaylee Grant (.326). In the circle, Princeton brings back four of its five pitchers, and the Tigers will also welcome five freshmen to the program.
