Women's Golf Set for Michigan State's Fossum Invitational

The second tournament of the fall season will send the Princeton women's golf team to Michigan for the Mary Fossum Invitational, hosted by Michigan State at the par-72, 6.236-yard Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich.
Joining Princeton and Michigan State will be Akron, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Miami (Fla.), Northern Illinois, Ohio, Western Michigan and Xavier. The field includes three top-60 teams in Golfweek's Sept. 12 rankings, led by No. 33 Miami, No. 42 Michigan State and No. 58 Indiana. Princeton competed at the Fossum tournament last in 2005.Â
Princeton's first tournament of the fall came two weekends ago at Texas Tech's Red Raider Invitational, where only Princeton's returners from last year were able to compete due to the rookies attending the university's opening exercises on Sept. 11. This time, freshmen Alison Chang and Maya Walton are set to join returners Tiana Lau, Jordan Lippetz and Hana Ku, along with Tenley Shield competing as an individual.
The shotgun start is set for 8:30 a.m. Saturday for two rounds and 9 a.m. Sunday for the final round.
