Air Force Takes Down No. 11 Men's Water Polo, 11-10

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – The No. 11 Princeton men's water polo team fell to the Air Force, 11-10, on the final day at Mountain Pacific Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
Seven different Tigers scored in the contest. Sophomore Ryan Wilson swiped five passes and sophomore Matt Payne drew six ejections. Junior Vojislav Mitrovic made 14 saves in the loss.
The Falcons scored the last two goals of the first quarter to take a 4-2 lead after eight minutes of play. Air Force pushed ahead, scoring three of the first four goals in the second frame to take a 7-3 advantage with 2:29 left in the first half.
Princeton got back into the contest with four of the first five tallies of the third quarter, cutting its deficit to one (8-7) at the 2:38 mark of the stanza. The game would remain that score until sophomore Michael Swart threw one past the Air Force goalie with 5:39 to go in the game.
This time it was Air Force to go on a run, scoring three straight, jumping ahead 11-8 as the clock ticked under two minutes. The Tigers scored twice, including a goal with nine seconds to go, falling 11-10.
