Princeton Baseball In The Pros: Bowman On A Roll In September

PRINCETON, N.J. - Former Tiger and current St. Louis Cardinal Matt Bowman has had a sparkling month of September. In 10 games this month, Bowman has allowed one run in 10 innings and has held opponents to a .262/.279/.310 slash line. The Cardinals are one game back of the San Francisco Giants for the second National League Wildcard spot.

Mike Ford '14 – Scranton/Wilkes Barre RailRiders (AAA) - Ford '14 made his Triple-A debut last week in the Triple A National Championship game. The RailRiders won the contest, 3-1, over the El Paso Chihuahuas. The former Ivy League Player and Pitcher of the Year finished the 2016 campaign with a .289/.411/.479 slash line in 56 games. In 190 at-bats, Ford hit eight home runs, drove in 43 runs and scored 26 times.

Will Venable – Oklahoma City Dodgers (AAA) – The Dodgers fell to El Paso Chihuahuas, 3-1, in the best-of-five Pacific Coast League Championship Series. After only hitting .205 in 41 games for the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, Venable hit 71 points higher in 46 contests for the Dodgers.

Alec Keller '14 – Potomac Nationals (A+) – The Nationals fell in the Carolina League Division Series to the Lynchburg Hillcats in early September. Keller finished his season with 28 extra base hits, 14 steals and 63 RBI while hitting .285 and making the all-star team.
