Men's Golf Set to Open Season Saturday at Duke's Myers Invite
September 08, 2016 | Men's Golf
The first of five fall-season events will begin Saturday for the Princeton men's golf team at the three-round Rod Myers Invitational at Duke.
The event, which will take place at the Duke University Golf Club, will have tee times for Saturday's two rounds on the par-72, 7,154-yard course beginning at 7:40 a.m. Sunday's final round will start at 7:35 a.m.
Along with the Tigers and host Duke, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Florida State, Florida Southern, Kansas, Liberty, Loyola (Md.), North Carolina, Penn State, South Florida, UC Davis and Wake Forest are in the field. That group includes 11 schools that finished last season in Golfweek's top 80 and seven in the top 50, led by No. 16 South Florida, No. 18 Florida State and No. 19 Wake Forest with No. 22 Duke also in the top 25. Wake Forest (No. 14), Florida State (No. 18), South Florida (No. 22) and Duke (No. 23) were included in the Golf Coaches Association of America rankings released last month.
The Tigers return four of their five from the Ivy League Championship tournament lineup last year, led by sixth-place finisher and All-Ivy honoree junior Eric Mitchell along with classmates Michael Davis and Marc Hedrick and senior Alex Dombrowski. Joining those four are Dombrowski's fellow senior Jason Chen and a pair of freshmen, Caden McLaughlin and Evan Quinn.
Tournament live scoring and pairings will be available via Golfstat here.
