Bullock and Neatby Take Weekly Honors; Tigers Jump to No. 9
January 17, 2017 | Women's Ice Hockey
Freshmen Carly Bullock and Steph Neatby have claimed ECAC Hockey honors for the week ending Jan. 15. This is Bullock's fourth Rookie of the Week award this season and the fifth consecutive Goalie of the Week honor for Neatby.
Bullock net her second career hat trick on Saturday in a 5-1 win over No. 9 Colgate. She scored the opening goal, the game winning goal and added the fifth goal as Princeton swept the Raiders this season, following a 7-2 win over Colgate when the team was ranked No. 5 in November.
Neatby went 1-0-1 and helped her team extend it's unbeaten streak to 10 games, at 8-0-2. On Friday, she stopped 31 shots in a 1-1 tie with Cornell - her only goal allowed being a power-play extra-attacker goal. On Saturday at Colgate she made 34 saves in the win. For the weekend she posted a 0.96 goals against average and a .970 save percentage.
Princeton jumped into the national polls this week as well, grabbing the No. 9 slot in the USCHO coaches poll. The Tigers were receiving votes this past week and were last ranked on Nov. 7, when they were 10th.
At 13-6-3, the Tigers take a pause in their schedule for exam breaks and look to keep their 10-game unbeaten streak going when they return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at Quinnipiac.
