HANOVER, N.H. (1/6/17) – Playing in its first game in nearly three weeks time, the Princeton men's hockey team dropped a 5-0 game at Dartmouth on Friday, Jan. 6 at Thompson Arena.

The Tigers who closed out 2016 winning seven of its last nine games, with five wins over ranked teams, look to turn things around tomorrow when they take on No. 4 Harvard.

The Big Green captured the energy of a rambunctious student section and came out ready, scoring twice in the first, twice in the second and adding another in the third.

"The schedule is what it is and you have to be ready to play every night," Princeton head coach Ron Fogarty said. "It doesn't matter if you have a couple games in hand or the other team plays a couple more after the break than you do, it doesn't matter. You have to be ready to go at puck drop and Dartmouth was ready to go at puck drop tonight. We were a little off tonight with our passing, our execution and Dartmouth was a step faster than us tonight and they deserved to win. We will see what our resiliency is tomorrow night at Harvard."

Troy Crema used a stick check before the goal to gain possession of the puck and fed it ahead to Corey Kalk. Kalk saw Cam Strong open on the weak side and sent the puck across the ice for the back door goal at 9:13.

Kalk made it 2-0 when he roofed in a power-play goal at 14:07, then immediately served a penalty for delay of game.

Daniel Warpecha padded the lead when he got the puck in the slot from Kevin Killistoff. The puck bounced through the middle of the ice and into the corner where it was collected by Killistoff and Warpecha was able to get a foot on his defender to put away the pass at 3:21 of the second.

After Will Graber dangled his way in for the fourth goal at 9:22, Princeton pulled netminder Colton Phinney. Junior Ben Halford took over for Phinney, who allowed four goals on 22 shots.

Graber net his second of the game at 12:56 of the third, going five hole on Halford.

Halford finished the game with 12 saves.

Devin Buffalo made 32 saves in net for the Big Green, as shots fell 35-32 in favor of Dartmouth.

Princeton was 0 for 2 on the power play, while Dartmouth was 1 for 1.

The Tigers face the Crimson tomorrow evening at 7 p.m., at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center.
