PRINCETON, N.J. – Freshman Bella Alarie was honored as the Ivy League Co-Rookie of the Week for her performance against Penn on Saturday. It's her fifth Rookie of the Week accolade this season.
Â
The freshman had a sparkling performance as she went 7-of-11 (63.6 percent) from the floor, finishing the contest with 17 points. She added four rebounds, an assist and a block in the loss.
Â
A standout sequence by Alarie came late in the fourth quarter. Trailing by five, the freshman went on the attack as she hit a jumper, blocked a shot on the other end, then followed with a layup, making it a one-point game (58-57) with 26 seconds remaining. However, Penn sank four from the charity stripe as the contest went on while Princeton couldn't get on the board, giving the Quakers the Ivy League victory.
Â
The Tigers will welcome Brown (Jan. 13) and Yale (Jan. 14) to Jadwin next weekend. Tip-off for each game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
