PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Tigers dropped their Ivy League opener to the Penn Quakers, 62-57, at Jadwin Gym on Saturday.

Revenge Game: Princeton's last three Ivy League losses have come at the hands of the Penn Quakers. On Saturday, no team led by more than five points over the last 16 minutes. Each team held a lead during 44 percent of game time. The average margin of victory during Penn's three-game winning streak over Princeton has been three points.

Sydney Stipanovich: Stipanovich went 5-of-8 from the field (62.5 percent), registering 10 points. Last year's Ivy League Player and Defensive Player of the Year also had four rebounds, an assist and a steal. The senior's fastbreak layup with 2:21 to go in the game put the Quakers in front, 56-53 en route to a win. It was the fourth time in her career that she scored double figures against Princeton.

Michelle Nwokedi: The junior posted her second career double-double against Princeton as she snagged 13 points and 13 rebounds along with four blocks on Saturday. In the last two minutes of the contest vs. the Tigers, Nwokedi blocked a shot, grabbed a big defensive rebound with her team in front by three points, and hit two free throws that put the game out of reach.

Penn's Defense: In the first half, head coach Courtney Banghart's team had success against the sixth best scoring defense in the country, shooting 48.3 percent (14-of-29). Eight different players scored for the Tigers as they raced out to a 33-28 lead at the break. Princeton's offense sagged slightly in third stanza, dropping to 40 percent shooting along with 1-of-5 from beyond the arc. In the last quarter, the Tigers were 4-of-13 (30.8 percent) while Penn outscored them 21-13.

Rebounding: The Quakers won the rebounding battle on Saturday, 37-34, grabbing 13 offensive caroms. Seven Tigers had at least three rebounds in the game. Princeton did hold Stipanovich under her rebound season average by six. Leslie Robinson led the home team with nine boards including four offensive. The junior has at least four rebounds in each of her last five games and is second on the squad, averaging 6.4 per contest.
