Princeton Baseball In the Pros: Bowman and Barnes Finish MLB Seasons

PRINCETON, N.J. – With the Major League Baseball regular season coming to an end, Matt Bowman '14 and Danny Barnes have finished their stellar seasons.
Matt Bowman '14 – St. Louis Cardinals (MLB) – The reliever finished his second year with the Cardinals with another sub-4.00 ERA (3.99). Bowman was tied for seventh in all of baseball with 75 appearances, adding three wins, two saves and 46 strikeouts in 58 2/3 innings of work.

Danny Barnes - Toronto Blue Jays (MLB) – Barnes completed his first full season with the Blue Jays, posting a 3.55 ERA in 60 outings of the bullpen. He had 62 strikeouts in 66 innings, earned three victories and finished 13 games for the Blue Jays.

While there won't be any former players in the Major League playoffs, Princeton will be still represented as the Cleveland Indians and Arizona Diamondbacks clinched postseason bids. The Indians, with general manager Mike Chernoff '03, won the American League Central Division and homefield advantage throughout the American League playoffs. The Diamondbacks, with general manager Mike Hazen '98, will host the Colorado Rockies in the National League Wildcard game on Wednesday night.
Ross Ohlendorf '05 - Tokyo Yakult Swallows (Jpn) - In four starts, Ohlendorf was 0-1 with a 5.50 ERA and 15 strikeouts. He is currently with the farm team for the Swallows, where he's made 11 appearances.

David Hale '11 – Oklahoma City Dodgers (AAA) Hale, who bounced between Double-A and Triple-A, finished with the Oklahoma City. In nine starts with the Dodgers, he went 2-4 with a 4.27 ERA. In three of those starts, his battery mate was another former Tiger, Jack Murphy.

Mike Ford '14 – Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (AAA) - Ford spent time with Trenton (AA) and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (AAA). For the year, he hit .270 in 126 games with a .404 on-base percentage and a .471 slugging percentage. Ford also hit 20 home runs and knocked in 86.

Alec Keller '14 – Harrisburg Senators (AA) – Keller finished the season on the disabled list. In his first full season in Double-A, Keller had 102 total bases and a .670 OPS in 77 games.

Cameron Mingo '16- Lake County Captains (A) –In five appearances with Lake County, Mingo finished with a 2.55 ERA. This year, the 2016 Ivy League champion saw action in 16 contests, going 3-2 with a 2.35 ERA.
