
Schrage Falls in ITA Fall Nationals Opener; Consolation Match Thursday

Princeton freshman Stephanie Schrage, who became the first Tiger since 2012 to advance to the ITA Northeast Regional final, dropped her opening match Wednesday at the ITA Fall Nationals in California and will play a consolation match Thursday.
Clemson's 70th-ranked Marie Leduc defeated Schrage 6-1, 6-4 at the Round of 64 match held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, Calif. Schrage will face East Carolina's 95th-ranked Celia Ruiz, who fell 6-2, 7-6 to Pepperdine's 13th-ranked Mayar Sherif Ahmed in Wednesday's first round, in the consolation. Thursday's play is scheduled to get underway at 8 a.m. PT/11 a.m. ET with Schrage's match at the JW Marriott Resort in Palm Desert, Calif.
