Five Tigers Named All-Ivy League

PRINCETON, N.J. (11/16/17) - Five Tigers from the Princeton men's soccer team have been named All-Ivy League, it was announced by the league office on Thursday, Nov. 16.
Junior Jeremy Colvin and freshman Richard Wolf were both named second-team All-Ivy League, while senior Matthew Mangini, junior Henry Martin and sophomore Jacob Schachner were named honorable mention.
Colvin was Princeton's leading scorer this season, totaling 13 points on five goals and three assists. He had a three-point game against Seton Hall, scored in a 1-1 tie at Boston University, tallied a goal at Dartmouth in a 2-1 loss, net the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over St. John's and in a 2-1 win over Cornell. He had assists in two of the last three games of the season. Colvin ranked sixth in the league in goals per game , seventh in points per game and was second in shots per game, averaging 2.76 spg.
Center midfielder Mangini, played in all 17 games and made 16 starts. He tallied three assists including two in a 2-1 win over Cornell and then another in the net game, a win over 1-0 Drexel.
Wolf became a starter on defense in the fourth game of the season and played in 14 games with 13 starts. Martin started in 11 of his 12 games played on defense. Princeton's defense this season held opponents scoreless in the first half in 16 of 17 games, including a streak of 13 straight games. The Tigers defense allowed just 38.2 percent of the opponents shots to get on frame where Schachner was in goal.
Schachner as second in the league in saves per game, averaging 3.81 spg. He had the third best save percentage at .792 and ranked fourth in goals against average at 0.92. Schachner posted four shutouts during the season - against FDU, Villanova, Drexel and Columbia. He made a career-high seven saves in the tie with the Lions.
Princeton finished the season 6-7-4 overall and tied for third in the Ivy League with a 2-3-2 conference mark.
