Mitrovic Named Player of the Year; Princeton Earns Three All-Conference

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 13 Princeton Tigers had three players named first-team All-Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC), the Collegiate Water Polo Association announced today.
Vojislav Mitrovic was selected as the Player of the Year while Jordan Colina and Sean Duncan were also first-team All-Conference. Mitrovic is a four-time all-conference player and is the first Princeton Player of the Year since Thomas Nelson in 2015. Colina has picked up three all-conference accolades while Duncan was the NWPC Rookie of the Year last year.
Mitrovic is 16-5 overall this season, having won six of his last seven starts as goalie for the Tigers. He has registered a .588 save percentage and stopped 268 shots. He has posted at least 10 saves or more in 18 of his 21 appearances. The senior is the program's all-time leader in saves with 1,113 and has four of the top five single-season save performances.
Colina leads the team with 61 steals and is tied for the lead in goals (63). The senior has 29 assists, drew 22 ejections and earned 17 sprint victories. He is one of six players ever to reach the 200-goal milestone, sitting with 219 career tallies.
Duncan has a team-best 65 drawn ejections while his 63 goals are tied for the squad lead. Colina and Duncan's 63 tallies are tied for the ninth most in a single-season in program history. The sophomore has 18 steals and 11 blocks as well for the Tigers.
Princeton is the No. 1 seed in the NWPC after taking down No. 18 St. Francis-Brooklyn, 13-9, in the regular season finale. St. Francis-Brooklyn is the No. 2 seed, followed by Harvard, Brown, MIT and Iona. The Tigers will play the winner of Brown and MIT in the semifinals on Nov. 18 (5 p.m.). Each game will be streamed on the Ivy League Network.
